The notion of sustainable development and eco-settlements is fashioned to response faster environmental impact of development. However, different characteristic of climate setting need different treatment of environment. The International Seminar on Tropical Eco-Settlements held in Sanur, Bali-Indonesia on 14-16 November 2006 is a forum to discuss particular approach to eco-settlements development for tropical area. The event was organized by Research Centre for Human Settlements (RCHS) in cooperation with Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture, Udayana University.
