The Deformation and Processing of Structural Materials
The deformation and processing of structural materials is the first book to provide comprehensive coverage of areas of interest such as severe plastic deformation techniques and directionally solidified superalloys. Each of the eight chapters explores a material's processing and deformation behaviour with consideration being given to how the microstructural composition of a material is affected by processing and what influence this has on its performance. The materials and behaviours examined include: aluminium and its alloys; magnesium alloys; ferrous alloys; superalloys (Ni-based alloys); semi-solid metal (SSM) processing of metallic alloys; plastic deformation of intermetallic alloys; metal matrix composites (MMCs); and fine grain superplasticity in structural materials.
