This book presents a selection of membrane technologies and their applications in the field of wastewater treatment, however, this book is not like a design manual but more like a study of the configuration system and components in operation and maintenance. Some applications of membrane technology in wastewater treatment reviewed in this book are: (i) membrane bioreactor, (ii) micro/ultrafiltration using low pressure membrane, and (iii) nanofiltration/reverse osmosis. The discussion of each application includes: typical process configuration, operationalization, equipment monitoring and control, maintenance procedures, and guidelines for troubleshooting issues arising from the application. Several case studies are also presented in the last chapter of the book.
