Man and Nature in The City
Man-nature relationships in an urbanized society are complex, dynamic, and poorly understood. Yet we know enough about them to recognize that many major prob lems of conservation and environmental management today stem from urban areas and their inhabitants. We also know that conservation decisions will soon be made by people who know only the environment of the city. The purpose of this symposium was to examine and explore these relationships with the hope of stimulating thought and action, in our agency and in the conser vation movement, responsive to the needs of an urbanized America.
