In view of the exploding urban population of our cities creating a mounting demand for tall buildings and the evident neglect of human factors in urban design at the expense of livability and quality of life, the Indian National Group of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering, the National Buildings Organiza- tion of the Ministry of Works and Housing, the Central Public Works Department and the Institution of Engineers (India) are holding a National Conference on Tall Buildings in New Delhi from January 22-24, 1973 for a comprehensive examination of all aspects of the topic.
