In the last fifteen years or so a major curriculum reform has taken place in the field of educational studies in colleges and university schools of education in Britain. The teaching of education as an undifferentiated field has been largely supplanted by the teaching of constituent disciplines. Philosophy, psychology and sociology are virtually everywhere represented: history and comparative education have been only partly successful in establishing their claims.
